Hmmm.... Today We are not staying in castle, no palace, no hotel, no hostel, no inn, no no no .... Greendale students are stepping out of their comfort zone and are all doing homestay with local japanese families. Many were worried in the beginning, but the hospitality that our japanese hosts had shown us quickly melted the invisible ice between us.
All of us are out there trying to understand their language, their way of life and basically their culture.
Although we are speaking different languages, communication was made easy by Yahoo translator... Thank God for that or else..... =)
Okie... So what are we doing in the local fmailies, Some of the students were discussing what they have made for their own dinner and I saw some of the girls wearing Kimono. I must say that they really enjoyed themselves , The guys were seen talking excitedly about the world cup match that they are about to watch with their japanese host. World cup fever is also on in Japan. I wonder whether the kopitiams in Singapore are filled with many football fans now!
And Yes, something really memorable for all of us! We were driven into the deep forest to catch a glimpse of ' a sea of fireflies' around us. All of us were awed by the breathtaking sight of fireflies flying around us! Envy us heh heh ?....
The students are not here for the update and there will be more to come when we settle in a hotel tomorrow. As for now, Oyasumi Nasai!
P/S And with our hospitable, generous, kind and neighbourly newfound Japanese friends, who says there's no comfort in the homestay? All of us are enjoying every moments now heh!
"GREENDALE, signs off."
