Day5 in Kyushu, Japan

Our first destination was to Notsu Farm. We assembled there from our homestay at 10am to make Mochi. It is a type of sweet cake. We were very excited as this is the first time we are making this type of food. We felt very confident of our own culinery skills.
However, when we came out with the final product, the taste was a bit weird. But we were still proud of ourselves nevertheless.

After lunch, we went to Onishii Bozu Jigoku(Monk's Hell) where we can see boiling mud pools which is grey in colour. There were also hot springs that were green and red in colour. The green colour is due to iron(II) and the red is due to iron(III).
We also went to the Umi Jigoko(Sea Hell),which is a pond of hot, blue water. Due to its temperature, steam is constantly being emitted to the atmosphere. It was so foggy that we could hardly see sometimes.

We also enjoyed ourselves soaking our feet in the hot spring. (:
